Construction Begins on 50,000-Square-Foot Retail Center in DFW with Sprouts as Anchor Tenant

GBT Realty Corporation is spearheading the development of Burleson Commons, a shopping center anchored by a grocery store on the southern outskirts of Dallas and Fort Worth. The retail property is currently being built at the intersection of SW Wilshire Boulevard and Commons Drive, with GBT having purchased the six-acre plot for $2.3 million from Orscheln Farm and Home in August. Completion of this neighborhood hub is expected in June.

Spanning 50,632 square feet, Burleson Commons will feature Sprouts Farmers Market as its anchor tenant – adding to GBT’s portfolio of 11 properties anchored by this popular grocer (five located in Texas). With an opening date set for July, Sprouts’ space will occupy 23,000 square feet within one of Texas’ fastest-growing submarkets.

BRR Architecture Inc., based out Kansas City has been tasked with designing this new shopping destination. According to US Census data , Burleson boasts a population exceeding 57 thousand people – making it one America’s most rapidly expanding mid-sized communities.
