### Work Progressing on Houston-Area Crystal Lagoon

A joint venture overseeing the development of the Crystal Lagoon has successfully completed one project and is making progress on a second. Lagoon Development Co., in partnership with Miami-based Crystal Lagoon U.S. Corp., broke ground in December on a 40-acre site located north of FM 1488, just west of the Waller/Montgomery county line. Their previous project, Angel Lagoon in Dayton, was completed six months ago.

According to the *Houston Business Journal*, the initial $30 million phase of the new development will feature a 4-acre artificial lagoon with four beaches, a swim-up bar, a floating obstacle course, and opportunities for paddle boating, kayaking, and sailing with the National Sailing Club. The lagoon is expected to be open for swimming by May 2026.

Future phases of the project are set to include an amphitheater for concerts and performances. Additionally, as seen with Angel Lagoon, plans are in place to sell or co-develop the surrounding parcels into restaurants, apartments, hotels, and condominiums.
