A space communications company with a facility in Broomfield is now exploring the possibility of establishing a new factory in Boulder. According to the Denver Business Journal, CesiumAstro could receive up to $12.4 million worth of tax incentive credits from Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and Trade if they create 906 jobs within the area over an eight-year period. The company currently has 140 employees and specializes in high-throughput, software-defined phased array communications payloads for airborne and space platforms. If built, their 100,000 square foot “state-of-the art” facility would be used for end to end design, manufacturing assembly integration as well as research into emerging space technologies with potential production capacity reaching two satellites per day.
