Middlesex School, an independent secondary school in Concord, MA for grades 9-12, has received a $43.68 million tax-exempt bond from MassDevelopment. This funding will go towards the construction of a new approximately 80,000-square-foot field house building on campus.
The state agency sold these bonds through Stifel, Nicolaus & Company Inc., and the proceeds will also be used to resurface and restore two turf fields as well as fund other capital improvement projects at Middlesex School.
According to Marcos Marrero of MassDevelopment, this investment in athletic facilities will benefit generations of students at Middlesex School. The agency is proud to support nonprofit independent schools like Middlesex that are looking to enhance their campuses through renovations or expansions.
Erland Construction has provided a rendering for the new field house building that includes multi-purpose practice courts, an elevated indoor track and fitness center along with spaces for meetings and physical rehabilitation. Additionally there will be locker rooms and covered parking available within this state-of-the-art facility.
