Leander, the northernmost suburb of Austin, is looking to become more than a bedroom community. Northline and St. John Properties are set to construct a 120,000 square foot office building that will include 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space in the area. The project is expected to start early next year with completion projected for the first half of 2025.
The developers have plans for 5 million square feet worth of office space as well as retail stores and restaurants along with residential areas, hotels and civic spaces plus a signature park at full buildout over the next decade or so – an investment likely exceeding $1 billion due to rising construction costs. The site lies between U.S Highway 183 and 183 toll road in Leander’s downtown district .
