KoMiCo, a South Korean semiconductor company founded in 1996, has announced plans to invest $50 million in building a state-of-the-art cleaning, coating, and repair facility in Mesa, Arizona. The Arizona Commerce Authority revealed that the facility will be located in the East Valley and is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs by its projected opening date of 2026. The company will occupy an existing building at 7300 E. Hampton Ave., which spans over 125,000 square feet and features multiple cleanrooms equipped with cutting-edge technology.
Arizona has become a popular destination for semiconductor investments as evidenced by TSMC from Taiwan and Intel from the United States both heavily investing in the state. KoMiCo’s U.S operation was established back in 2007 and with this new facility it will have three plants operating within the country. In addition to its presence here,KoMiCo also maintains operations globally including locations such as South Korea,Singapore China, and Taiwan.
The news of KoMiCo’s investment further solidifies Arizona’s position as a leading hub for semiconductor companies looking to expand their operations.
