"Collaboration between Moody's and MSCI for ESG Data"

MSCI Inc. and Moody’s Corporation have announced a strategic partnership to increase transparency on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in the market. The agreement will allow Moody’s to utilize MSCI’s renowned sustainability data and models, which are trusted by top asset managers worldwide. This collaboration will enable Moody’s customers in banking, insurance, and corporate sectors access to MSCI’s ESG ratings and content.

On the other hand, MSCI will gain access to Moody’s Orbis database containing information on over 500 million entities for expanding its private company ESG coverage. Additionally, both companies plan to explore solutions that leverage Moody’s private company data and credit scoring models.

According to Henry A. Fernandez , Chairman & CEO of MSCI , sustainability is a crucial trend shaping global investments with an increasing focus on private assets . He further added that this partnership would help expand their coverage of ESG for private companies while delivering improved solutions across various client segments and asset classes.

It is essential to note that this partnership does not affect the operations of Moody’s Ratings – one of the leading credit rating agencies globally.
