Rivermoor Energy, based in South Boston, and the Town of Deerfield, MA have officially opened a new electric vehicle (EV) fast charging hub in downtown South Deerfield. This facility is equipped with chargers that can reportedly charge a vehicle within 20 minutes. It has been made possible through a federal Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant – the first of its kind to be received in the eastern U.S., and only the second nationwide according to Rivermoor.
The project was funded by a $2.46 million CFI grant and selected by the Town of Deerfield as it serves as an important regional business center with convenient access for Western Massachusetts communities and travelers along Interstate 91.
Founder and managing director of Rivermoor Energy, John H. Tourtelotte stated that this project will provide EV fast charging services to one of Massachusetts’ most rural counties. The location’s proximity to I-91 also makes it an ideal stop for visitors looking to explore downtown South Deerfield’s bustling restaurants and businesses.
This marks another milestone achievement for Rivermoor Energy as they continue their efforts towards promoting sustainable transportation options across different regions.
