**Houston Methodist Acquires Former Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in West University Neighborhood**

Houston Methodist has acquired the former Coca-Cola bottling plant located in the West University Place neighborhood of Houston. The 14-acre site, situated at 2800 Bissonnet Street, was previously owned by Lovett Commercial President and founder Frank Liu, alongside Avi Ron, founder of Urban Meridian Group Inc.

According to a recent internal communication reported by the Houston Business Journal, Houston Methodist CEO Marc Boom informed employees of the acquisition, indicating that the expansion will support the healthcare system’s efforts to “better meet the growing need for health care in this area.”

The plant has been vacant since Coca-Cola vacated the property in 2020, relocating its operations to a new $250 million, one-million-square-foot facility located at Pinto Business Park in north Houston.

While Houston Methodist has yet to finalize development plans for the newly acquired site, the purchase marks a significant milestone in the organization’s continued growth and commitment to expanding healthcare access across the Houston region.
