Clear Investment Group Launches $300M Multifamily Investment Fund
Chicago-based Clear Investment Group (CIG) has launched the Clear Opportunities Fund II, with a fundraising goal of $300 million. The fund, which began in March, is focused on acquiring multifamily properties across the United States, with a particular interest in distressed workforce housing.
While the firm has its sights set on portfolios ranging from 300 to 1,200 units, CEO Amy Rubenstein noted that identifying such opportunities in the Chicago market has proven difficult.
“In recent years, we have found that Chicago has presented fewer large-scale distressed opportunities,” Rubenstein said. “However, we continue to actively explore the Chicago multifamily market.”
Despite the challenges in Chicago, Rubenstein confirmed that Clear Investment Group has pending deals in Dallas and Houston. She emphasized that the fund’s broader strategy remains focused on distressed investments in markets with strong fundamentals and untapped potential.
The first fundraising round is scheduled to close on July 1.
