The City of Glendale is actively seeking foreign direct investment (FDI) to boost its economy, according to city officials. Currently, there are over 1,400 local jobs supported by FDI and more than 90 foreign-owned enterprises in Glendale. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development has reported that the top markets for FDI in Glendale include the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Switzerland, Canada and more.
Glendale Director of Community Development Bradley Calvert stated that pursuing FDI is a viable way to bring business opportunities to the city. He emphasized the importance of establishing connections with global partners as it can create international market access for local businesses while attracting more foreign investment overall.
The sectors that have brought significant amounts of FDI into Glendale include retail trade, finance and insurance services,
administrative support services,
professional services and wholesale trade.
Some notable foreign companies already operating in Glendale are Great West Financial,
PCL Construction,
Addeco,
Sodexo
and Airgas.
