### City Advances Coney Island West Redevelopment with RFP

As part of the next phase of the Adams administration’s redevelopment plan for Coney Island West, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Parcel A, an 80,000-square-foot site along Surf Avenue. The site is slated to include more than 500 units of mixed-income housing along with ground-floor retail space.

In addition to the new housing, the city will renovate the Abe Stark Sports Center and the Coney Island boardwalk. The boardwalk’s reconstruction will occur in phases and incorporate coastal resilience features, including elevation improvements.

The redevelopment efforts will also include the construction of approximately 1,500 new homes on city-owned sites near the boardwalk, starting with Parcel A. The transformation of Coney Island West began with two affordable housing projects, Surf Vets Place and Raven Hall, which opened in 2019 and 2022, respectively. Another affordable housing development, Luna Green, is currently under construction.
