CIM Group is shifting focus as it builds out Phase I of Centennial Yards in Downtown Atlanta. This multi-use 50-acre development is located in The Gulch next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena. Originally, the plan included demolishing the former Atlanta Journal Constitution press building and constructing an office tower on the site; however, construction for a 300-room hotel and second apartment project has continued while plans for the office component have been put on hold.
The Lofts at Centennial Yards South at 125 Spring Street opened its doors in 2022 with almost full occupancy. It’s connected by a newly constructed skybridge to 99 Ted Turner Drive which was intended to be developed as new office space but those plans are now paused as well. A third of this project will likely include some form of office space when completed by 2026 despite this change in focus from CIM Group’s original plan .
