CIM Group is shifting focus as it builds out Phase I of Centennial Yards in Downtown Atlanta. This multi-use 50-acre development, located next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena in The Gulch, was originally planned to include the demolition of the former Atlanta Journal Constitution press building and construction of an office tower on site. However, while construction continues on a 300 room hotel and second apartment project, plans for an office component are now on hold.
The Lofts at Centennial Yards South at 125 Spring Street opened in 2022 with almost full occupancy due to its connection by newly constructed skybridge to 99 Ted Turner Drive which was intended for new office space but has also been put on pause. Despite this change in plans some form of offices may still be included when a third portion opens by 2026.
