Chrysalis 40th Anniversary: Star-Studded Butterfly Ball in October

Robert Hart, President and CEO of TruAmerica Multifamily, is a strong advocate for Chrysalis and its effective work in transitioning people from homelessness. In an interview with Mark Loranger, President & CEO of Chrysalis, they discuss the importance of supporting organizations that are dedicated to building better communities.

One such organization is Chrysalis’ 2024 Butterfly Ball on Saturday, October 26 at The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. This year’s honorees include John Paul DeJoria (Co-founder & Chairman of the Board at John Paul Mitchell Systems), Byron Taylor & Darrell Stevenson (Ranch Manager at Four Stones and Back-of-House Manager at Gwen), and Chloe Bailey & Halle Bailey (Grammy-nominated singer-songwriters and actors).

Hart explains that he first became involved with Chrysalis as a fundraising volunteer in the early 2000s because he wanted to make a direct impact on society by helping those in need. He believes that organizations like Chrysalis can make a difference in addressing societal problems such as homelessness.

Loranger emphasizes how important it is for companies to support organizations like Chrysalis because addressing homelessness is one of Southern California’s greatest challenges. He also shares how their programs have been recognized nationally as models for helping individuals secure good-paying jobs.

The upcoming Butterfly Ball will not only celebrate these accomplishments but also look towards the future as they continue to be leaders in tackling pressing regional issues.

Hart adds that every year there are new elements added to the event which makes it one of L.A.’s most exciting events attended by celebrities and business community members alike who all come together for this worthy cause.

In terms of community benefits delivered by Chyrsalis’ programs, Hart highlights their efforts towards curing blight through street cleaning projects involving homeless individuals looking to emerge from their situation. Loranger adds that this year alone, Chrysalis will help over 1,800 clients find employment with an average hourly wage of $19.50/hour.

Hart believes that involvement in Chrysalis reflects and supports TruAmerica’s mission and commitment to building better communities both corporately and personally. He encourages others to get involved as well by purchasing tickets for the Butterfly Ball or supporting other philanthropic efforts.
