"Chipotle Founder Announces Opening of NoHo Robo-Eatery, Kernel"

Steve Ells, the visionary behind Chipotle, is expanding his plant-based restaurant concept Kernel with a second location at New York University’s 15 East Fourth Street. This new 1,300-square-foot space will be situated on the corner of Fourth and Lafayette streets, following the success of Kernel’s first location at 315 Park Avenue South.

According to Ells, their goal is to create a unique dining experience that reflects the vibrant NoHo neighborhood. “We are more determined than ever to welcome locals and students alike to enjoy our offerings when we open this fall,” he said confidently.

The deal for Kernel was brokered by Newmark’s Ariel Schuster, Mitch Heifetz and Evan Roteman while Colliers’ David Tricarico and Jake Horowitz represented NYU in purchasing this building for $97.5 million in April 2023. Other tenants include La Colombe Coffee Roasters, Lafayette House Painting,Coffeeface, and PebblePost – all adding value to this prime location.
