Chick-fil-A to Open First South Side Location

Chick-fil-A to Open First South Side Location

Chicago’s South Side is on its way to welcoming a new Chick-fil-A location, as the City of Chicago Plan Commission has given approval for the transformation of a vacant off-track betting facility into the popular chicken sandwich chain’s first Southeast Side restaurant. The 5,196-square-foot establishment will be developed by nonprofit organization Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI) and the Hope Center Foundation on a six-acre parcel. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2024, creating 125 new jobs and an additional 145 jobs during construction.

According to David Doig, President of CNI, this achievement was made possible through collaboration with community leaders such as Alderman Anthony Beale and Rev. Meeks, along with support from partners like Chick-fil-A and local businesses/residents. This development adds excitement to Pullman as it uplifts not only its residents but also all of Chicago.
