Melanie Jefferies, the Chief Operating Officer of Engineering Services and Principal at Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc., has been appointed to the City of Chicago’s Cut the Tape Task Force. This task force was created by Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration in response to their “Cut the Tape Report” which outlines steps to reduce administrative burdens and promote affordable housing development.
Jefferies’ expertise in strategic planning, performance delivery, and real estate development make her a valuable addition to this initiative. She is currently working on a $46 million mixed-use project on 4731 S. Cottage Grove Avenue with Milhouse Development as co-developer. This project will bring 74,000 square feet of dining, retail, entertainment,and recreational space to Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood.
