"Chicagoland Warehouse Construction Begins with Trammell Crow"

Trammell Crow Company (TCC) has recently started construction on a new 788,000-square-foot cross-dock warehouse in Plainfield, Illinois. The property is located approximately 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago and is expected to be completed by fall of 2025.

CBRE brokers Matt Mulvihill and Phil DeBoer were responsible for acquiring the land for TCC and will also handle the marketing and leasing of the building. Situated on a spacious 52-acre plot at 26220 W.143rd St., this will be the first speculative warehouse in Plainfield Business Center.

The project has been designed by Harris Architects, with Krusinski Construction Company serving as general contractor and Kimley-Horn & Associates as civil engineer. Once fully developed, Plainfield Business Center will offer over eight million square feet of industrial space.

According to Josh Udelhofen, senior vice president at TCC’s Chicago office: “We believe that with ongoing improvements being made to nearby roads such as W.143rd Street, Plainfield Business Center will become an attractive location for large industrial users seeking space along I-55.” This development marks another milestone in Trammell Crow’s continued growth within Chicagoland’s commercial real estate market.
