Marcus & Millichap Brokers $4.1M Sale of Five-Suite Retail Property in Chicago
Marcus & Millichap has successfully brokered the $4.1 million sale of a five-suite retail property located at 600 S. Dearborn Street in Chicago, Illinois. The property, which totals 12,132 square feet of ground-floor retail space, is part of the historic Transportation Building situated in Chicago’s Loop at the intersection of South Dearborn and West Harrison Streets.
“The property’s strong tenancy, assumable debt, and historic location made it a compelling investment opportunity,” said Mark Krantz, Senior Director of Investments at Marcus & Millichap. Krantz, along with Derrick Dougherty, an investment specialist in the firm’s Philadelphia office, represented the buyer, a private investor based in Washington, D.C. The team was supported by Steve Filippo, a capital markets specialist with Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation.
The transaction was completed with Steven Weinstock serving as Marcus & Millichap’s broker of record in Illinois.
Fully leased, the property is anchored by a solid tenant mix, including 7-Eleven and Sofi Restaurant. It benefits from strong foot traffic as well as its proximity to major transit lines and a dense population of both residents and office workers.
