Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, a leading national employment law firm, has announced the relocation of its Chicago office to the Civic Opera Building. According to a report by the Chicago Business Journal , this move will expand their presence in the 45-story office tower by over 2,000 square feet from their current location at 300 S. Wacker Drive.
The transaction was facilitated by Bradford Allen’s Managing Director Justin Kessler and Kathleen Bertrand of Transwestern represented the Civic Opera Building in this deal.
This development comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings between Wells Fargo and Michael Silberberg – founder and CEO of Berkley Properties – who is being sued for defaulting on monthly payments for properties including the Civic Opera Building. The building is one among several commercial properties facing foreclosure in downtown Chicago due to economic challenges brought about by COVID-19.
