Chicago Bears Discuss Stadium Negotiations with City

The Chicago Bears have recently resumed discussions with the City of Chicago regarding the team’s future. In a letter to season-ticket holders, President Kevin Warren expressed hope for a new indoor stadium complex in downtown Chicago. While other municipalities remain under consideration, the current focus is on building within city limits. Built in 1924, Soldier Field is one of the smallest stadiums in NFL and has been subject to talks about potential relocation away from its current location. The franchise purchased Arlington International Racecourse for $197 million with plans to build an entertainment complex worth $5 billion; however taxes were raised substantially which led them to begin demolishing existing facilities at that site instead.
