Potbelly Corporation, a sandwich shop based in Chicago, is set to open its first location in Orlando. This marks the company’s debut into the Central Florida market. The new shop will be located in the Milk District on one of Orlando’s main retail corridors at Colonial Landing shopping plaza and is expected to open later this month.
This opening is part of Potbelly’s expansion plan with Sugarland Investment Group, LLC. Under a multi-unit agreement, twelve locations are planned to be opened over the next seven years. In addition to this new location in Orlando, Potbelly has announced plans for nearly 50 more shops throughout Florida by mid-2023.
In recent months, Potbelly has signed agreements with five franchise groups for an additional 40 shops across Tampa, Fort Myers,Broward County,Gainesville,and Panama City.The company was founded in Chicago backin1977 and has since grown nationwide through both corporate-owned and franchise locations.
