Edmondson Village Shopping Center (EVSC), a community-owned commercial real estate property located in southwestern Baltimore, has recently announced an agreement with Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (MOWCM). MOWCM will be relocating its headquarters and production center to EVSC, becoming an integral part of the shopping center’s revitalization.
According to Lyneir Richardson, CEO of Chicago TREND and developer/co-owner of EVSC, MOWCM is a highly respected organization that addresses food insecurity. Their presence at the shopping center is expected to contribute significantly to its resurgence.
As part of their relocation plans, MOWCM has purchased a vacant lot behind EVSC where they will build their new administrative headquarters, kitchen facilities, and production facility. The new location will house administrative offices as well as food preparation kitchens for home-delivery operations.
The move is projected to create over 100 jobs when it opens in 2026. Baltimore Mayor Scott expressed his support for this development stating that it was a perfect fit for the promising redevelopment happening in West Baltimore.
Overall, the announcement marks another positive step towards the growth and improvement of both Edmondson Village Shopping Center and Meals on Wheels’ services within central Maryland.
