Celina's Rapid Growth Lands Home Depot

Celina, the nation’s fastest growing community, has attracted major retailers such as Costco and Lowe’s. Now, Home Depot is joining in on the action by opening a new store in Celina. The city has approved a tax grant of $1.4 million over ten years for the home improvement center.

This investment is expected to generate significant revenue to support infrastructure and public services in Celina. With an estimated 26.6% population growth from July 2022 to July 2023, according to the US Census Bureau, Celina is experiencing more percentage growth than any other city with at least 20,000 residents.

The new Home Depot will be located at Ownsby Parkway and Preston Road next to Costco and across from Lowe’s – making it a prime location for shoppers looking for home improvement options.

According to Community Impact reports, under the agreement between Home Depot and Celina officials, the retailer must open its doors by July 2026 and employ at least 48 local residents by March of that year.

Currently there are about fifteen existing Home Depot locations throughout Collin County – showing just how popular this retailer is among communities like Celina who value convenience when it comes time for home repairs or renovations.
