Cedar Hill Plant Opens with $253M Investment from Paper-Recycler

Pratt Industries, a Georgia-based provider of recycled paper and packaging products, has opened a $253 million manufacturing facility in Cedar Hill, Texas. The 1.1 million-square-foot facility is projected to employ 375 people when fully operational and marks the company’s fifth factory in the state. Pratt has invested over $550 million into their operations across Texas since opening their first plant there in 2013.

The new Cedar Hill Corrugating & Innovation Center will produce retail specialty products, corrugated boxes and custom displays for businesses around the world while also sponsoring training/development programs with local schools to bolster workforce pipelines within the area. Anthony Pratt commented on this investment stating that “Recycling is an important weapon against climate change because as things decay in landfill they emit methane which is 84 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.” As America’s fifth largest corrugated packaging company and one of only two companies worldwide that are 100% privately owned by recycling paper goods exclusively; it comes as no surprise that Pratt Industries continues to be at forefront of environmental sustainability initiatives globally .
