CBRE has brought on industrial specialist Alex Heim as a senior vice president in its Ontario office, expanding the firm's capabilities in land and development advisory. In his new role, Heim will concentrate on industrial land transactions, development assignments, sales and leasing activity. He joins CBRE's land and development practice, where he will work in close coordination with colleagues Eloy Covarrubias, Joe Werdein, Garry Jenkins, Kathee Wozniak and Angie Churchwell.
Leadership at CBRE framed the hire as a strategic addition to the company's regional industrial platform. Ian Britton, senior managing director at CBRE, said Heim represents an important enhancement to both the Ontario office and the broader land and development business. Britton highlighted Heim's extensive understanding of the local industrial landscape and referenced his performance record in what he described as one of the nation's most active industrial regions, noting that this background is expected to support client needs across a variety of industrial assignments.
Heim brings more than 10 years of experience in the Inland Empire industrial market, giving CBRE additional depth in a logistics and warehouse corridor that continues to attract institutional capital and development attention. Over the course of his career, he has focused on assembling and executing industrial land and building strategies for users, investors and developers operating in that regional market.
Before joining CBRE, Heim spent 13 years with Lee & Associates in Ontario, where he also held the title of senior vice president. At that firm, he specialized in industrial land and facilities, advising clients through the full cycle of site selection, land sales, development pipelines and leasing. His time at Lee & Associates established him as a familiar presence in Inland Empire industrial transactions and positioned him to work closely with both local and national market participants.
Heim's transaction history reflects a focus on large-scale industrial and development-oriented work. According to CBRE, he has completed more than 1,000 acres of land sales during his career, in addition to leasing activity totaling 12 million square feet. He has also been involved in a development pipeline that exceeds 15 million square feet, spanning projects at various stages of planning and execution. His client base has included a range of national institutional owners and developers, aligning with CBRE's emphasis on servicing large, sophisticated investors active in the industrial asset class.
By integrating Heim into its Ontario-based land and development team, CBRE further builds out a service platform aimed at capturing industrial land, development and leasing assignments across the Inland Empire. The move links Heim's track record and relationships with the global firm's broader resources, adding another senior-level practitioner to CBRE's industrial advisory bench in the region.
