**Carolina Panthers to Begin $800 Million Renovation of Bank of America Stadium**

The Carolina Panthers are set to launch a sweeping $800 million renovation of Bank of America Stadium, with upgrades scheduled to be completed in phases through 2030. Renovation work will be carried out during NFL and Major League Soccer off-seasons to avoid game disruptions.

In June 2024, the Charlotte City Council approved a plan to invest $650 million from tourism tax revenues to cover 80% of the cost. The remaining $150 million will be funded by Tepper Sports, the ownership group for both the Panthers and Major League Soccer’s Charlotte FC. As part of the agreement, Tepper Sports has committed to keeping both teams in the uptown Charlotte stadium through at least 2045.

Originally opened in 1996, Bank of America Stadium is one of the oldest stadiums in the NFL, with a current seating capacity of 74,000. Planned upgrades include modernized concourses, installation of new seating across three levels, a new indoor practice facility, updated suites, and a state-of-the-art scoreboard, among other enhancements.

Tepper Sports will be responsible for any cost overruns associated with the project. All renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2030.
