Capstone and MPZ Secure $2M for Templeton Redevelopment

MPZ Development LLC (MPZ) and Capstone Communities LLC have successfully secured an additional $1.5 million in funding for the redevelopment of The Baldwinville School Apartments in Templeton, MA. This brings the total support for the project to $1.93 million, with contributions from both the Community Preservation Act (CPA) and MassDevelopment’s Underutilized Properties Program.

The initiative aims to transform the historic Baldwinville Elementary School into 54 rental units, including 49 affordable units for individuals earning between 30-60% of Area Median Income (AMI). With a strong commitment from Templeton’s CPA since 2021, this project highlights a combination of mixed-income housing and preservation of historical buildings.

Led by MPZ and Capstone, this redevelopment will provide multifamily homes as well as various amenities such as green spaces, playgrounds,and fitness facilities. The anticipated completion date for The Baldwinville School Apartments is set for 2025.
