Copland House, a renowned creative hub for American music and the arts located at composer Aaron Copland’s National Historic Landmark home in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, has chosen Caples Jefferson Architects to oversee the planning, design and development of their new satellite venue – Bluestone Farm. The 24-acre property was recently purchased by Copland House in Putnam County, NY.
Bluestone Farm was formerly known as the Melrose School campus in Southeast, NY. This acquisition will allow Copland House to expand its support for artists and engage with a wider audience through public presentations and educational programs. The property was purchased for $3 million this past January through Houlihan Lawrence Commercial.
According to Michael Boriskin, artistic and executive director of Copland House: “In light of our changing world post-pandemic, we are excited to partner with Caples Jefferson as we reimagine what it means to be a creative center heading into the mid-21st century. We believe that ideas can bring people together through artistry, expressivity, and collaboration.”
