Capgemini America Inc., a leading global technology company, will be consolidating its workforce into The Canyon, located in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood. This move is part of the Mission Rock development by Tishman Speyer in partnership with the San Francisco Giants and Port. According to reports from The San Francisco Chronicle, Capgemini has signed a new lease for 30,000 square feet of office space for at least 10 years.
The Canyon is a mixed-use building standing at 240 feet tall and offers a total of 58,000 square feet of office space. In April, Paris-based Capgemini will occupy the third floor as their new headquarters.
In addition to offices spaces, The Canyon also features residential units with 283 multifamily units available. Out of these units, there are designated below-market rate options totaling up to102 residences that were first occupied in June.
For Capgemini’s move to Mission Rock and downsizing their current footprint in San Francisco (which includes locations at Brannan St., Bryant St., and Howard St.), they have enlisted representation from Kevin Waldman and Danny Pickard from Cushman & Wakefield. This consolidation may contribute to an increase in city-wide office vacancy rates which currently stand at record high levels according CBRE data.
