Candice Barter, principal at E4H Environments for Health Architecture, was recently honored with the prestigious 2023 Distinguished Alumni in Architecture Award from the Boston Architectural College (BAC). At the BAC Alumni Awards ceremony, she was recognized for her influential contributions to healthcare design throughout her nearly two-decade career.
Barter’s expertise in designing pediatric and behavioral health facilities has led to transformative projects at renowned institutions such as Boston Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Her approach is rooted in human-centric and research-based design principles that prioritize patient and staff comfort.
In addition to her role as a leader at E4H, Barter also serves as a mentor for teams and plays an integral part in shaping the next generation of designers. During the pandemic, she has been actively involved on critical committees which showcase her dedication to improving healthcare spaces through innovation.
