**Café Calaveras to Open First Brick-and-Mortar Location in Seattle’s Yesler Neighborhood**

Café Calaveras has announced the grand opening of its first physical café, located in the Batik apartment building, a property managed by Vulcan Real Estate in Seattle’s Yesler neighborhood.

Following several years of operating pop-ups at Seattle’s Pier 62, Café Calaveras will transition into a permanent 1,218-square-foot space at 860 Yesler Way. The new location will take over the former spot of Tougo Coffee, which closed its doors in 2024.

The lease was brokered by Blake Taylor of West Coast Commercial Realty, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

“Everything I had came from my community—borrowed ice chests, donated coffee—and that sense of togetherness shaped everything I’ve built,” said founder Clarissa Griego.

“Clarissa brings something truly special to Yesler,” added Geralyn Vannoy, Director of Commercial Marketing and Leasing at Vulcan Real Estate. “Her vision, heart, and commitment to community shine through in every detail of Café Calaveras.”

The new café is expected to blend community spirit with high-quality offerings, further enriching the diverse and vibrant Yesler neighborhood.
