Cabot, Cabot & Forbes (CC&F), a prominent developer specializing in transit-oriented projects for Greater Boston’s modern workforce, will break ground on November 6 for “The Bolt”—a 180,000-square-foot office, lab, and manufacturing complex located along the New Boston Corridor in Woburn.
This new development marks the continuation of CC&F’s $400 million investment to revitalize a former Superfund site near the Anderson/Woburn MBTA station. Built on a speculative basis by John Moriarty & Associates, The Bolt is designed to serve a diverse range of industries, including energy, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and technology. The project is expected to generate approximately 300 new jobs, with occupancy anticipated in 2027.
In addition to The Bolt, CC&F’s current developments at the site include Emblem 120, a luxury multifamily and retail project comprising 289 units, and Zero New Boston, a proposed residential complex offering 250 apartment units, structured parking, and 1,200 square feet of retail space.
