Buy Solar Panels at Lowe's to Help Reach Net Zero Emissions at 174 Locations

Lowe’s has announced rooftop solar panel installations at 174 locations nationwide in line with its goal to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The panels will provide approximately 90 percent of the energy for each location, and have been installed through partnerships with DSD Renewables (DSD), Greenskies Clean Focus and Infiniti Energy across California, Illinois, and New Jersey. This investment is expected to help Lowe’s reduce operational emissions while reaching its goal of having operations powered by 50 percent renewable energy by 2030.

Chris Cassell, Lowe’s Vice President of Corporate Sustainability commented: “At Lowe’s we are focused on operating responsibly and reducing our impact on the environment. Investing in renewable energy lowers operating costs which is an important step in reducing emissions associated with our stores and distribution centers.” He added that this initial rooftop solar portfolio “is one example of the collaboration we seek with partners as we work toward our long-term net zero goals.”
