Cushman & Wakefield has been retained to sell the historic San Francisco Art Institute campus at 800 Chestnut St. in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood, offering an opportunity to acquire one of the largest tracts of private property in the city improved with a pair of education structures designated as landmarks. The property contains an original 1931 Diego Rivera mural, which is available for acquisition along with the real estate. Tom Christian and Tim Garlick are leading Cushman & Wakefield’s marketing and sales efforts for this unique asset.

“This is a very special landmark property and will make an inspiring home for another education institution, museum or other creative / innovative use,” said Christian. The campus includes two buildings totaling approximately 93,000 square feet; its original structure was built in 1926 featuring a bell tower, interior courtyard, Anne Bremer library classrooms galleries and offices while its 1968 addition boasts both rooftop amphitheater interior theater galleries studios among other features.
