“Building Block Foundation Fund’s White Party Fundraiser: A Conversation with CapRock’s Bob O’Neill”

"Building Block Foundation Fund's White Party Fundraiser: A Conversation with CapRock's Bob O'Neill"

The annual Building Block Foundation Fund (BBFF) White Party is a highly anticipated event that will take place on Wednesday, August 21 at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach. Since its inception in 2004, this fundraiser has raised over $3 million for charities focused on improving the lives of at-risk youth. As we gear up for this year’s White Party, Bob O’Neill – SVP of acquisitions at CapRock Partners and member of the BBFF board of governors – shares his insights as well as why he believes it is important to support this cause.

O’Neill has been a longtime supporter and advocate for both The Building Block Foundation Fund and the annual White Party. He explains that being involved with BBFF through his role on the board has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his commercial real estate career. When he joined in 2009 during a time when there was much financial pain and stress within local communities due to the Great Financial Crisis, O’Neill felt motivated to give back by raising awareness about BBFF’s mission to support underprivileged children in Orange County.

At CapRock Partners, giving back is an integral part their company culture with one core value being “Blessed to be a Blessing (10%).” This philanthropic value stems from their belief that success should not only benefit themselves but also extend beyond employees towards charitable organizations like BBFF who have made significant contributions within underserved communities.

When asked how exactly does The Building Block Foundation Fund give back? O’Neill says it aligns perfectly with CapRock’s values because historically CRE industry participants have had great financial success which makes them uniquely positioned to make meaningful contributions towards helping those less fortunate than themselves through supporting charities such as Project Access, Boys Hope Girls Hope Everfree Joyful Child Foundation Kidworks Orangewood Children’s HomeAid & Builders HomeAid America – OC Chapter .

Looking forward into what attendees can expect from this year’s event, O’Neill shares that the BBFF White Party Charity Fundraiser has continued to grow and evolve over the past eight years. With over 50 corporate sponsors supporting this year’s event, including eight first-time sponsors, it is evident that BBFF has gained momentum within the CRE industry. O’Neill expects a turnout of over 350 professionals at this year’s White Party and looks forward to making new connections with his peers.

The highlight of each annual White Party for O’Neill is seeing so many industry peers come together in a beautiful setting all for a great cause. The Newport Dunes provides an idyllic beachside location for guests to enjoy food, music and fun party props while celebrating their success as well as contributing towards valuable donations for charities supported by BBFF.

O’Neill encourages anyone looking for an enjoyable networking opportunity to attend this year’s White Party on August 21st at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach where they can learn more about The Building Block Foundation Fund’s mission while having a good time with friends and colleagues from within the CRE industry.
