Ocean Aviation has announced plans to invest $67 million in a new private aircraft facility and air museum at Miami Executive Airport. The 40-year lease, with a single five-year option for renewal, is expected to bring significant economic benefits over its term.
According to reports from the S. Florida Business Journal, the project will create 2,900 temporary jobs and 250 permanent positions with competitive salaries ranging from $60,000 to $250,000 annually.
The state-of-the-art facilities will include a fuel farm and both temporary and permanent terminals for private aircrafts. Additionally, there will be office space available as well as retail options for visitors. The campus will also feature 27 hangars for aircraft storage along with a new building worth $5 million that will house the Wings Over Miami Air Museum.
In addition to these amenities designed specifically for Ocean Aviation’s use at Miami Executive Airport , there are plans in place by Arquitectonica – an expert architectural firm -to construct other features such as Watson School of Aviation’s ramp which spans over 49 thousand square feet . There is also going be another common-use ramp measuring approximately32 thousand square feet .
Lemartec has been selected as general contractor responsiblefor overseeing this ambitious project which is set take place in three phases spanning eleven years .
