"Building a $5B Pediatric Campus for Children's Health in Dallas"

Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center have announced plans for a state-of-the-art pediatric health campus in the Southwestern Medical District. The $5 billion project will span 33 acres and replace the current Children’s Medical Center Dallas, located at Harry Hines Boulevard and Medical District Drive.

The new facility, which will be constructed just over a mile away at Harry Hines and Mockingbird Lane, is set to open in 2031. It will boast an impressive 5 million square feet of space, including two 12-story towers and one eight-story tower dedicated to hospital services. This marks a significant increase from the current hospital’s size.

With its prime location adjacent to William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, patients can easily access both facilities via an elevated walkway once construction is complete later this year.

The new campus will feature advanced medical technology with increased capacity for patient care – including a total of 552 beds (a notable increase from the existing hospital) as well as expanded emergency department and operating room spaces by double-digit percentages.

This major development represents an exciting milestone for children’s healthcare in Dallas without mentioning any specific organizations involved.
