Brookfield Developing Austin Industrial Project: Highflier in the Making

Brookfield Developing Austin Industrial Project: Highflier in the Making

At the end of last year, Brookfield Asset Management was one of the world’s largest real estate investors, with $263 billion in assets under management. Its development arm, Brookfield Properties is now focusing on Austin and plans to construct five industrial buildings totaling 313,000 square feet along Highway 71.

The Austin Business Journal reports that these two tracts total 53 acres and the proposed buildings range from 30,000 to 87,000 square feet in size. The development will be surrounded by other warehouses and office buildings such as Expo Business Park Freeport Tech South and a Texas Department of Transportation campus; it is also located just north of McKinney Falls State Park which is about 10 minutes away from the airport or 15 minutes away from State Highway 130 toll road.

Atlanta-based Macgregor Associates Architects are attached as architect while Kimley-Horn & Associates provide landscape architecture services as well as surveyor/engineer duties for this project.
