**Broadmead Acquires Three-Building Office Portfolio in Baltimore County for Residential Conversion**
Broadmead, Inc. has acquired a portfolio of three commercial office buildings located in the Sparks area of Baltimore County. This strategic investment is part of Broadmead’s long-term vision to transform over 220,000 square feet of commercial space into approximately 80 independent living residences along with support amenities.
The portfolio includes a collection of interconnected mid-rise buildings situated on about 60 acres of land. With current occupancy below five percent, the site presents substantial redevelopment potential. Broadmead plans to repurpose the largely vacant office space into high-quality senior residential living units, aligning with its mission to deliver Best-in-Class residential and healthcare services for older adults.
Tom Fidler, Executive Vice President and Principal of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, led the site selection process and represented Broadmead during purchase negotiations. “Broadmead has been searching for land or existing building assets that could fulfill its mission of providing best-in-class residential living and healthcare services,” said Fidler. “MacKenzie identified the Ridgebrook Road campus, which is within close proximity to its current facility.”
MacKenzie Management Company has been appointed to oversee asset management services for the three-building campus as plans for redevelopment move forward.
