Broadcom, a leading semiconductor company, is looking to sell a significant portion of the 1.6 million-square-foot Palo Alto campus it acquired in November. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, this move comes after Broadcom’s acquisition of competitor VMware for $69 billion.
The company intends to sell approximately one million square feet of the former VMware property located at 3401 Hillview Ave., while keeping 600,000 square feet for its headquarters. The pricing for these parcels is currently unknown and CBRE has been tasked with listing them.
As a supplier of semiconductor and infrastructure software, Broadcom previously had its headquarters at 1320 Ridder Dr. in San Jose where it also owns several other properties. The purchase of VMware included their campus as well but plans for Broadcom’s remaining buildings in San Jose have not yet been announced.
