BRIDGE Housing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and managing affordable housing, recently joined Seattle city and community leaders in celebrating the groundbreaking of St. Luke’s. This new 84-unit affordable family housing community is located in the Ballard neighborhood.
The eight-story building will feature studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes on the grounds of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Planned amenities include resident support services, a community room, shared laundry facilities on each floor, a rooftop deck,and a play area for children. The property will also offer convenient access to grocery stores,bus service to downtown and the University of Washington,and future light rail transit stations.
Financing for this project was provided by various organizations including the Seattle Office of Housing,the Seattle Housing Authority,the Washington State Housing Finance Commission,the National AffordableHousing Trust – UnitedHealth Group,and JPMorgan Chase.The architect is VIA Architects/Perkins Eastmanandthe general contractoris Exxel Pacific Inc.
