Boston Planning Approves 6 Projects for 577 New Residential Units

This month, the Boston Planning Department board gave the green light to six new development projects totaling 859,726 square feet. These projects will be located in various neighborhoods throughout Boston including Allston, Brighton, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain and Roxbury. In total, they will bring 577 new residential units to the city with 251 of them designated as income-restricted.

The approved developments are:

– Drexel Village at 175 Ruggles St., a public land project in Roxbury that will include 217 residential units with190 being income-restricted.
– A parking lot and office space at250 Everett St. in Brighton that will be transformed into240 residential units with41 being income-restricted.
– Passive house development101-109 Boston St.in Dorchester whichwill provide53 housing units including eight for low-income individuals.
– The replacement of an autobody repair shop on3458 Washington St.in Jamaica Plainwith34unitsincludingeightincome-restricted ones.
-A ground-up construction project on23-25 N.BeaconSt.inAllstonthatwill add25residentialunits,fourofwhichareforlow-incomeindividuals
-An amendment to convert an office building downtown at101 TremontSt.into student housing.
