Bob’s Stores, a renowned New England retailer founded in Connecticut in 1954, has announced the closure of all six of its Massachusetts locations. These include stores at 87 Washington St., Attleboro; 146 Whalon St., Fitchburg; 50 Holyoke St., Holyoke; 230 Main St., Middleton;59 Mazzeo Drive, Randolph; and168 Milk St., Westborough.
This decision comes as part of a Chapter11 bankruptcy filing by Bob’s Stores’ parent company GoDigital Media Group. As per their plans to liquidate all merchandise, these locations will be shutting down soon. Once considered a major competitor to retailers like Bradlees and Ames, Bob’s Stores will now cease operations across all its21locations spread across Connecticut,Massachusetts ,New Hampshire ,New Jersey ,New York,and Rhode Island.The company was previously owned by TJX Cos.from2003to2008and later joined hands with GoDigital Media Groupin2022.
