"Biohub New York Launches with Chan Zuckerberg Initiative"

On Thursday, the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub New York, along with representatives from Columbia University, The Rockefeller University and Yale University, officially launched their collaboration. This project aims to bring together scientists who will work towards bioengineering immune cells for the early detection and treatment of diseases.

The launch event featured speakers such as Hope Knight (president, CEO and Commissioner of Empire State Development), Andrew Kimball (president & CEO of New York City Economic Development Corporation), Stephen Quake (CZI Head of Science) and Andrea Califano (president of CZ Biohub New York). During this event, CZ Biohub New York also announced its second request for proposals in order to promote collaboration among scientists from Columbia, Rockefeller and Yale.

Spanning 37.840 square feet in size,CZ BiohubNewYork is located at the Studebaker building on Columbia’s campus. The lease negotiations were handled by CBRE’s John Isaacsand Joseph DeRosaon behalfofCZI.The facility marksthe fourth research institute withintheChan ZuckerbergBiohub Network – a collaborative model supported by CZI that promotes scientific research.
