**BCS Capital Group to Develop Manvel Crossing Retail Center**
BCS Capital Group has acquired a 47-acre parcel of land located just northwest of the intersection of State Highways 6 and 288 for the development of a new retail project named Manvel Crossing. While specific square footage details have not yet been released, BCS has confirmed that the development will feature a mix of restaurants, shops, and other commercial establishments.
The planned shopping center will sit directly west of the 273-acre Manvel Town Center, which is currently being developed by Weitzman and is anchored by H-E-B.
A Chapter 380 economic development agreement with the City of Manvel is currently in progress. Under the agreement, BCS will commence construction within 12 months. In return, the city will reimburse the company with tax revenue generated by the project for a period of 17 years. Additionally, a planned unit development agreement and annexation of the property are part of the overall plan.
Manvel has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years. The city’s population nearly doubled between the 2010 and 2020 U.S. censuses and is estimated to have grown by another 73% as of July 2024, reaching approximately 19,309 residents.
This new retail development is poised to support the area’s increasing population and demand for commercial services.
