Ocean Aviation has announced plans to invest $67 million in a state-of-the-art private aircraft facility and air museum at Miami Executive Airport. The 40-year lease, with an option for renewal after five years, is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region. With the creation of 2,900 temporary jobs and 250 permanent positions offering competitive salaries ranging from $60,000 to $250,000 annually over the course of the lease.
The new facilities will feature a fuel farm and both temporary and permanent terminals for private aircrafts. Additionally there will be office space available as well as retail options on site. A total of 27 hangars will also be constructed along with a new building worth $5 million designated specifically for Wings Over Miami Air Museum located at the airport.
Watson School of Aviation will have access to a ramp spanning nearly fifty thousand square feet dedicated solely for parking their aircrafts while visiting this campus location. Another common-use ramp measuring thirty-two thousand square feet is also included in this project’s design plan.
Arquitectonica has been selected as lead designer while Lemartec serves as general contractor overseeing all phases during construction which is estimated take eleven years overall before completion.
