Avalara Tax Company to Reduce Seattle Office Size by Relocating

Avalara Inc., a tax software company, has announced plans to downsize its current offices in Seattle’s Pioneer Square and relocate to a smaller space downtown. This decision comes after the company recently shifted its headquarters to the East Coast.

According to reports from the Puget Sound Business Journal, Avalara has signed a deal for 33,754 square feet in the historic Maritime Building at 911 Western Ave. The building spans over 211,640 square feet and will serve as Avalara’s new location. Previously, the company was headquartered at Slalom Hawk Tower on S King St., where they leased 152,401 square feet of space.

The new office space is located on the fifth floor of the Maritime Building and is being subleased from Seattle-based Big Fish Games. As an industry leader in sales tax automation services such as exemption certificate management and e-commerce integrations along with compliance and return filing services; this move marks an important step for Avalara as it continues to grow its business operations.
