AutoCanada Sells Illinois Dealerships to Streamline Operations
AutoCanada, a multi-location North American automobile dealership group, has completed the sale of its Chevrolet and Hyundai dealerships located in Palatine, Illinois. These dealerships had been classified as discontinued operations as of the end of 2024. The transaction generated $9.3 million in cash, which will be used to reduce the company’s revolving credit facility.
The move is part of AutoCanada’s strategic initiative to streamline its operations and concentrate efforts on its core Canadian market. Currently, the company’s Canadian Operations segment manages 64 franchised dealerships across eight provinces, representing 23 different automotive brands.
The Chevrolet of Palatine dealership was located at 151 East Lake Cook Road, while the Hyundai of Palatine dealership operated at 221 East Lake Cook Road. Earlier in the year, AutoCanada also divested Crystal Lake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, located at 5404 South Illinois Route 31 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
These divestitures reflect AutoCanada’s continued focus on maximizing operational efficiency and reinforcing its presence in Canada.
